Gary Mollard - Executive Director
Gary Mollard completed a BA in Economics in 1984, while employed full time by Fletcher Merchants Limited. While on a year’s leave of absence form Fletchers in 1986, Gary completed an MBA (Cranfield). Since then he has held a number of senior management positions including: General Manager of Marketing at Golden Bay Cement; General Manager of the Natural Gas Company group of companies; Managing Director of Avalon Studios Limited; and, until recently, Managing Director of NDA Engineering Limited.
Gary led the initial MBO of NDA in 1998 and grew the business significantly. Following strong growth from acquisitions and organic growth, NDA now has wholly owned operations in New Zealand, Australia, China and the United States. Current annual revenue of the NDA Group are over NZ$250 million. NDA is a world leader in the fabrication of stainless steel process vessels and heat exchanges for industry, as well as a leader in the provision of other specialist products and services to key markets around the world.
Following a competitive bid process, NDA introduced a new investor (RMB Capital Partners, Sydney) in April 2007. After helping to establish a strong management team, Gary took the opportunity to reduce his time commitment to NDA and relinquished the Managing Director role. However, Gary remains a valued part of the team, retaining an investment in the group and a directorship.
Gary is also chairman of Aber Holdings Limited (a Hamilton based product and appliance distribution company) and a director of Innovation Waikato Limited. Innovation Waikato Limited is the operating company created to develop and deliver services for tenants of the Waikato Innovation Park. The Waikato Innovation Park has been established from a public/private partnership to enhance Waikato’s economic growth by strengthening innovation in the region's world leading Agritech and Agbio sectors; it is currently home to over fifty companies.
